Using the Daguerreotype process, in 1839, the first selfie was taken by Robert Cornelius. The process of clicking the photo via Daguerreotype took place in 1839.
It was started by Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre, whose name was named after this process. The tools used in it were quite heavy.
Also taking photos with them was quite expensive. This blurry picture of Robert, he himself pulled the camera’s face on his side.
