New Delhi: Karti Chidambaram shocks, SC not allowed to leave the country. In the INX media case against former finance minister P Chidambaram’s son Karti Chidambaram, the CBI has sought a report from September 4. Along with this the Court has retained Karti’s lookout notice and due to which Karti can not go abroad. The next hearing of this case will be on September 11.

During the hearing today, the CBI said that when Karti Chidambaram’s father P Chidambaram was the Finance Minister, Karti used to charge service charges to clear the file from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board. The Supreme Court allowed the CBI to present details of Karti’s accounts and the properties located abroad to the court before the court. Karti had filed a petition to go abroad, which was canceled by the court. The lookout notice issued against Karti has been upheld.

Karti will appear in front of CBI –

During the defense hearing sought by lawyer , the CBI had questioned the authenticity of the letter given by Karti on May 29. Through that letter, Karti Chidambaram demanded more time to answer the summons. Karti Chidambaram’s lawyer Gopal Subramaniam said that he is ready to appear in front of the CBI but he needs protection. He said that nowadays, targeting the relatives of the leaders has become fashionable. Then Chief Justice JS Khehar said, ‘Do you want to say that you are so good that you do not want to be present before the CBI?’ The court also dismissed Karti’s allegation that he is being tortured and the real target is his father P Chidambaram.

SC stays order on Madras HC –

On August 14, the Supreme Court had stayed the Madras High Court order and Karti Chidambaram, son of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, appeared before the CBI in connection with the misdeeds of the Foreign Investment Board in the INX Media Deal.

FIR was lodged in Delhi The CBI had issued a lookout circular against Karti Chidambaram but the Madras High Court stayed on August 10 last. The CBI says that he had filed an FIR in this case in Delhi and since the warrants were issued from Delhi, the Madras High Court has no jurisdiction in it.
