MUMBAI: The possibility of heavy rain in Mumbai. There was strong rain in the metropolis last night and this morning and somewhere along with the needy sprinkled and lightning also shone. Delay in suburban railway services and due to water logging, in many areas the drivers of the roads had to face inconvenience.

The Meteorological Department has forecast the rains for the next 24 to 48 hours in Mumbai. After rain for some days, the city has received rains for the last two days. But there is no news of any casualties due to this. An official of the disaster management department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said that there is no information till now of any untoward incident.
He informed that the Meteorological Department located in Colaba, South Mumbai recorded 32 mm rain till 8.30 am this morning from morning till 5 a.m. In the suburban Santa Cruz observatory, 51.2 mm was recorded during this period. He said that despite heavy rains in the suburbs, traffic on the Eastern and Western Express Highways was normal.
The official said that suburban rail services on the Central Railway, Western Railway and Harbor Corridor are running late by five to 10 minutes today. He informed that the bus services of BharatMumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) are operating normally. Officials said that after filling water in some low-lying areas like Bhandup, Bandra, Andheri and Dadar, drivers were inconvenienced this morning. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is expected to continue for next 24 to 48 hours.
