According to the railway official, the railway service has been suspended in the valley due to security reasons. He said that the police and administration have ordered the suspension of the rail service for the time being.
Trains in Srinagar-Badgam in Central Kashmir and Baramulla in North are not being run on the tracks. At the same time, the rail running between Banihal of Jammu is also closed. In the last two months, the rail service has been continuously suspended. This is being done due to the situation in the valley, so that there is no harm to the railway service for security reasons. Rail assets are also damaged in demonstrations. After the death of Burhan Wani last year, the railway service was closed for a full six months. Due to the closure of railway services in this way, people traveling daily have a lot of trouble.
