There are a total of six palms in the Tarani, which gives it the strength to travel in difficult situations too. With a modern satellite system, a crew of Tarini can be contacted in any part of the world.
All the trials of Tarini were completed on January 30 this year. The experience of running Mahadei has been very useful in developing its technique. In March last year, Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar initiated the construction of Tarini.
This sailing vessel is ready before the deadline and it is considered to be an achievement for the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ program.
The boat is named after the famous Tara-Tarini temple in Odisha. In Sanskrit, Tarini also means crossing the yacht.
