Modi’s speech will change in Kashmir: Mehbooba Mufti. Kargil Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has expressed hope of improving the situation of the valley after the speech given on Kashmir on the occasion of Independence Day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mufti said that like the term of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee this time also, the speech given by the Prime Minister regarding Kashmir is welcome and it is likely to have positive results.

Mufti, who reached Kargil here on the first leg of his three-day Ladakh region, said this while addressing a public meeting at Husseini Park.
Addressing the countrymen on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, he said that the problem of Kashmir will not solve the problem of bullet and abuse rather than embracing the Kashmiris.
Modi said that people of Jammu and Kashmir as well as people of other parts of the country also have the resolve that the problem of Kashmir will not settle with the bullet and change will not only result from the abuse but also embracing the Kashmiris.
Mufti also inaugurated NH-1D at a cost of Rs. 430 million. The Chief Minister also spoke about the introduction of air services in Kargil. He said that he has also talked to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu regarding laying of railway lines in Kargil. Mufti also laid the foundation stone of Das Dreyathang Road, which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 6 crore 93 lakh to repair the road connectivity in Kargil.
