Ownership of Rajasthan team is owned by Jaipur IPL Cricket Private Limited Company. The name of this company has been sought from the board.
According to an Indian Express report, a BCCI official said that “he (Rajasthan Royals) has demanded a change of name but did not disclose the reason behind why he wants to change the name of the company. Let me tell you that Rajasthan Royals team was the winner of the first season of the IPL in 2008.
On the other hand, the Kings XI Punjab team has also decided to change their home ground from the BCCI. This time Punjab’s home ground is Mohali. Franchisee says that during the matches, he did not receive special support from the Punjab Cricket Association. Because of that, he wants to change his home ground. Apart from this, the decreasing number of fences also influences the team’s profits.
It has been said by the team that franchisee has got much benefit in playing domestic matches in Pune and Indore in last two seasons. The first choice of owners of Punjab team for the new domestic ground is Indore.
This issue was also raised in the meeting with the Committee of Administrators. In which decision was taken to discuss this in the next IPL governing council.
