The first atomic test reactor in BARC and the first energy reactor in Tarapur Atomic Energy Station was imported from the US. BARC includes Research Reactor, Uranium Metals and Plant for Fuel, Recycling of Fuels and Earthquake Stations for Research and Radiostop Production. BARC has succeeded in designing and developing India’s first pressurized water reactor, which has been installed at Kalpakkam near Chennai. It has also developed Power Unit and Propulsion Reactor for the first Indigenous Missile submarine INS Arihant, who joined the Navy in 2016 and has run nuclear energy.

BARC, specializing in advanced reactor technologies, is now focusing on developing new technologies to create nuclear energy. About 5,780 MW at this time or say that 3.5 percent of the country’s total power generation is based on nuclear power.
There has been considerable research on the use of nuclear fuel chrysures thorium and the technology of an advanced heavywater reactor.
